This policy explains how crespaca.org uses cookies and similar technologies, what each one does, how long it lasts and how you can control it. It supplements our Privacy Policy. This website does not use advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you are not shown a consent banner.
1.About this policy
This Cookie Policy is issued by RESTAURANT ELZA LTD, trading as Crespaca, the operator of crespaca.org. It applies to this website only, and not to any third-party site you may reach through a link.
We publish it to meet our obligations under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and the UK GDPR, which require us to tell you clearly about information stored on or read from your device, and to obtain your consent for anything that is not strictly necessary.
2.What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return, the browser sends the file back, which lets the site recognise the same visitor or remember a setting.
Similar technologies serve the same purpose by different means, and this policy covers them all:
- Local storage and session storage — key-and-value data held by the browser for a site, without being sent with every request.
- Pixels and web beacons — tiny images or scripts embedded in a page or email that record whether it was opened.
- Software development kits — code libraries inside apps that perform the same functions.
Cookies are described as first party when set by the site you are visiting, and third party when set by another domain whose content the page loads. They are session cookies when they are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and persistent cookies when they remain for a set period.
3.Our approach to cookies
We have deliberately built this website to work without tracking you:
- we do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels or social media tracking tags;
- we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share any browsing data;
- we do not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party content delivery networks, so no third-party domain sees your visit;
- we do not use any non-essential cookie without your prior consent, which is why no banner is shown while the site sets none.
Current position. As at the date at the top of this page, crespaca.org sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party trackers. The only data recorded about your visit is the standard server log described in section 6.
If that changes — for example if we add analytics or an embedded booking tool — we will update this page and, before any non-essential technology is used, we will ask for your consent through a banner that lets you accept or reject it just as easily.
4.Categories of cookies
Where a cookie is used, it will fall into one of the categories below. Only the strictly necessary category can be used without your consent.
| Category | What it does | Consent needed? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Makes the site work: security, load balancing, form submission and fraud prevention. The site cannot function without these. | No — exempt under PECR |
| Functional | Remembers a choice you made, such as a filter selection or a dismissed message, to improve your experience. | Yes |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages are used, in aggregate, so we can improve the site. | Yes |
| Advertising and profiling | Builds a profile of your interests to target advertising across sites. | Yes — and we do not use this category at all |
5.Cookies and storage used by this website
The full list of technologies that may store or read data on your device when you use crespaca.org:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| None set by us | — | This website currently sets no first-party cookies. Navigation, the product filter and the enquiry forms all work without storing anything on your device. | — |
| Hosting security cookie | Strictly necessary, first party | May be set by our hosting provider to protect the site against automated abuse and to route your request to a healthy server. It contains a random identifier only. | Session, or up to 30 minutes |
If you inspect your browser and find a cookie for crespaca.org that is not listed here, please tell us at [email protected] and we will investigate and update this page.
6.Server logs
Separately from cookies, our hosting provider records a standard access log entry for each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the response code, the referring page and your browser identification string. This is not stored on your device and does not follow you between sites.
We use these logs solely to keep the service secure and to diagnose faults, relying on our legitimate interest in network and information security. Logs are retained for up to 12 months and are then deleted.
7.Third-party content and cookies
We do not embed third-party video players, maps, chat widgets, social feeds or font services on this website, so no third party sets a cookie through our pages.
Our pages do contain plain links to external sites, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office. Following a link takes you to a site with its own cookie practices, which we do not control. Please read the cookie notice of any site you visit.
If we add a third-party feature in future, we will list the provider, the cookies it sets and a link to its own policy in the table above, and we will request your consent before the feature loads.
8.How long cookies last
A session cookie is erased when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains for the period set when it is created, or until you delete it. Where we ever use a non-essential cookie, we will keep its lifetime to no more than 12 months and will ask you to renew your consent when it expires.
9.How to manage cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies for any site directly in your browser. The links below go to the current instructions from each vendor:
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards cookies and storage when the window is closed, and a setting to clear browsing data on exit.
To clear local storage for a single site, open your browser’s site settings for crespaca.org and choose the option to delete data for that site.
10.Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” header or a Global Privacy Control signal. There is no single agreed standard for how sites must respond to them. Because we do not track visitors across sites and set no advertising cookies, our behaviour is the same whether or not you send these signals.
11.What happens if you block cookies
Because this website relies on no cookies of its own, blocking cookies will not stop you from browsing pages, filtering our product cards or submitting an enquiry form. If your browser blocks the security cookie our host may set, you may occasionally be asked to complete an additional check before a page loads.
12.Cookies and your privacy rights
Where a cookie or similar technology processes personal data, that processing is also covered by our Privacy Policy, and the rights described there apply — including the right of access, the right to erasure and the right to object. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by clearing the relevant cookies in your browser and declining consent when next asked.
13.Changes to this policy
We review this policy whenever we change the technology used on the website, and at least once a year. The effective date and version at the top of the page show the current edition. Material changes affecting non-essential technologies will be accompanied by a fresh request for your consent.
